Secret Life of a Book Blogger

The Secret life of a book blogger tag (1)

Hello everyone! Summer @ Xsingsings, Prima @ Panda Hearts Books, and Brigitte @ The Book and the Bone have tagged me to do the Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag!

(And of course, typical me, Summer tagged me way back in December)

1. How long have you been a blogger?

I have been an active blogger since July of 2015, though my blog was created a few months before that.

2. At what point do you think you will stop?

Hmm. I don’t really know. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep this thing going on for another few years. Maybe I’ll stop blogging when I go to college, or maybe not. For now, I really love it, and I’m not going to stop until I get bored or don’t like it anymore, (fortunately, I don’t see that happening anytime soon!)

3. What is the best thing?

Like a lot of bloggers, I have to say the community. The bookish community has some of the nicest people ever, and I know that I can go them and leave a comment after finishing a particular feel worthy book 😉

4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Well I used to be obsessed with stats and check them every day, but now I’ve realized that it’s ok, I have to stop comparing my blog to others and chill out a little. Also, the worst thing is when you have 20+ tags in your queue and you feel overwhelmed about that, but I’ve gotten good at just making a list on my phone of the all of the tags I’ve been tagged to do, that way I’ll never forget.

5. How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

I guess it depends on for what. Bookstagram pictures take a few minutes to take pictures and find the right lighting and then editing them, but like pictures in terms of graphics and editing those take a bit longer.

6. Who is your book crush?

Just one?! Ok, Rowan Whitethorn

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

Either Casandra Clare or Colleen Hoover. To be honest, I think my other favorite authors would intimidate me too much and I would die of excitement and nerves before every getting a chance to finish the post haha

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

It depends on what time I’m blogging. After school sometimes in jeans, or leggings, usually on weekends in pajamas.

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

Hmm, if it’s a review, 20 to 30 minutes, and then another 5 minutes for the graphic. Tags and awards take longer because I have to tag people and create more original graphics. I haven’t done too many discussion posts, but those are usually quick in terms of writing because I just word vomit and then edit.

10. How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

Everyone is just so nice and warm and welcoming and I could not be more proud that I belong to such an awesome community!

11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

I feel like making yourself known, like getting involved. But it also depends on what you think successful is. But in general, being very friendly, and commenting will get you known and then people will remember you.

Who do you tag?

Cherry @ Read Forevermore

Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks

Cat @ The Book Finch

  1. I loved reading your answers! Being tagged for 20+ tags must be incredibly overwhelming (I was once tagged for 10 at the same time and I thought that was a lot) so I commend you for tackling them all!

  2. YES!! I used to be so overwhelmed with all the tags and I had this I have to do them NOW!” mentality. But now I’m a lazy blogger so I just note them down somewhere and remember them after a few weeks XD
