Secret Life of a Book Blogger

The Secret life of a book blogger tag (1)

Hello everyone! Summer @ Xsingsings, Prima @ Panda Hearts Books, and Brigitte @ The Book and the Bone have tagged me to do the Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag!

(And of course, typical me, Summer tagged me way back in December)

1. How long have you been a blogger?

I have been an active blogger since July of 2015, though my blog was created a few months before that.

2. At what point do you think you will stop?

Hmm. I don’t really know. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep this thing going on for another few years. Maybe I’ll stop blogging when I go to college, or maybe not. For now, I really love it, and I’m not going to stop until I get bored or don’t like it anymore, (fortunately, I don’t see that happening anytime soon!)

3. What is the best thing?

Like a lot of bloggers, I have to say the community. The bookish community has some of the nicest people ever, and I know that I can go them and leave a comment after finishing a particular feel worthy book 😉

4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Well I used to be obsessed with stats and check them every day, but now I’ve realized that it’s ok, I have to stop comparing my blog to others and chill out a little. Also, the worst thing is when you have 20+ tags in your queue and you feel overwhelmed about that, but I’ve gotten good at just making a list on my phone of the all of the tags I’ve been tagged to do, that way I’ll never forget.

5. How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

I guess it depends on for what. Bookstagram pictures take a few minutes to take pictures and find the right lighting and then editing them, but like pictures in terms of graphics and editing those take a bit longer.

6. Who is your book crush?

Just one?! Ok, Rowan Whitethorn

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

Either Casandra Clare or Colleen Hoover. To be honest, I think my other favorite authors would intimidate me too much and I would die of excitement and nerves before every getting a chance to finish the post haha

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

It depends on what time I’m blogging. After school sometimes in jeans, or leggings, usually on weekends in pajamas.

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

Hmm, if it’s a review, 20 to 30 minutes, and then another 5 minutes for the graphic. Tags and awards take longer because I have to tag people and create more original graphics. I haven’t done too many discussion posts, but those are usually quick in terms of writing because I just word vomit and then edit.

10. How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

Everyone is just so nice and warm and welcoming and I could not be more proud that I belong to such an awesome community!

11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

I feel like making yourself known, like getting involved. But it also depends on what you think successful is. But in general, being very friendly, and commenting will get you known and then people will remember you.

Who do you tag?

Cherry @ Read Forevermore

Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks

Cat @ The Book Finch

The Blogger Behind the Books Tag

The Blogger Behind the Books Tag!.jpg

Hello! I was tagged by Kimsiang @ The Spines Breaker to do the the blogger behind the books tag, so thank you Kimsiang! This tag was created by the Sky Blue Team btw.

To be honest, my life is pretty tame and boring, but let’s get started!

“The Night We Said Yes” ~ A time you felt like you were on top of the world and could do anything.

Hmm, well, I often feel like that after a good run…Running just makes me really happy and after a good workout I feel empowered and fresh and I can’t stop smiling. 🙂

Also, I haven’t read this book, though the cover looks cool.

“Twilight” ~ Describe a time you were irrationally in love with someone or something when you know you shouldn’t have been.

Funny story, I’ve never actually been in love so…I mean, I read all these books where the characters are 16 and in love, and then there’s me…Nope, sorry, life does not happen like it does in the books haha.

“Beautiful Disaster” ~  A place or person that you can call home.

Ok, yeah, my house, (my parents house I mean), bookstores, and libraries for places. I would say school cause I spend more time there than anywhere else, but I sort of dislike the amount of work I receive so that’s a no. As for people, I guess my family and closest friends.

Yeah, I’ve never read this one either.

“Fangirl” ~ Talk about what you love most. Your favorite things, people, books whatever.

My favorite subject! I love all things Outlander, Panic at the disco, the offspring, Harry Potter, reading, writing, this blog, my fictional boyfriends, Throne of Glass, and Percy Jackson. Jamie Fraser is awesome, so are Will Herondale, Rhysand, and Rowan.

“Morrie” ~ Talk about who (outside of your family) has been the most influential person in your life.

I agree with Kimsiang here, inspirational quotes 😉

“The Giver” ~ Do you feel like our society now are headed in the direction (or are already in a state) of a Dystopia.

Hmm. That’s an interesting question. I feel like we’re not there yet, but we’re definitely heading in that direction, which really sucks.

“Harry Potter” ~  Describe a moment where you felt like you where exactly where you were supposed to be, a moment where you felt on the right path.

Hopefully my life is just getting good, so I hope to be able to answer this one day, cause it hasn’t happen yet.

“Carpe Diem” ~ Tell us about a person/experience that taught you to LIM (live in the moment)

Ok, so you always see phones out all the time, especially during concerts recording the moment, and a lot of people get angry that no one lives in the moment anymore, but through their phones. So I thought, why do people record so much of everything? Well, I do it so I don’t forget, so I can look back years later and see all of these pictures and moments and smile back because I may not be able to remember.

But it’s also important to live in the moment, and grab the chance when it comes, because you may not have that chance again.

Well then, now we’re at the tagging part!
