October 2015- Wrap Up

October Wrp Upt

Hello! Hi! What’s up!?

Welcome to my October Wrap Up! Where i wrap up and discuss all of the books i’ve read this month and if i haven’t reviewed them, give a mini review!

So this month was a pretty good month for reading, and i read 9 books!

So without further ado, let’s begin!

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick and The Archived by Victoria Schwab! (Click on each title for the review)

Both of these books were great, and i think i gave them 4 or 4.5 stars out of 5.

I also read Confessions of a Shopaholic, so if you want to see why i disliked this book, click here

I finally jumped on this Wrath and Dawn bandwagon, and thank god i did because this book was amazing! I’m posting my review for it this Sunday, and i’m going to give it a definite 5 out of 5 stars.

Now i may or may not post a review of this book, but let me just say that i had some problems, starting with the fact it felt like fanfiction…and not good fanfiction. In fact, this book took me a whole month to read, and i even read it while reading other books…i’d give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

I just finished this book yesterday! The ebook finally became available again after it expired on me…it’s a long story, but i read it, and i loved it! 4 or 4.5 stars for sure, i haven’t decided yet, and depending on time, may or may not post a review again.

I also finished this lovely yesterday! Review to come soon as well! 4 out of 5 stars!

My pleasure adult romance read for this month was Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren, oh my, now that was a pleasure read for sure.

And last but not least, Catching Jordan! My friend on the swim team lent me this book because it’s one of her favorites. It’s basically a cutsie book about this girl quarterback who feels threatened when this hot new quarterback moves in, both for her position, and because she gets distracted by his hotness…

I’m not going to be doing a full review on this, so i’m going to rate it right now…4 out of 5 stars!

As you can see, i have 4 books waiting for a review! Since i read so fast, i often don’t review every book i read because that would be boring…

Anyway, November is going to be a great reading month because Winter comes out! And so does November 9!

My November to Buy List:

-Sword of Summer

-Six of Crows

-Happily Ever After

-Winter

-November 9

It’s also a long story, but my mom refused to let me buy books this month…(all of the above books were either e-read from the library, or sent to me to e-read)

Thank you so much for reading!

Did we read any of the same books? Do you want to read any of the books i read? Do we share a similar November TBR?

Share your thoughts in the comments!

Blogger Recognition Award

I am sooo sorry for my absence this week! Just as i say i post regularly on Sunday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s, i’m unable to, look at that.

So i guess i’m back to irregular scheduling this week, but hopefully i can get back on my regular schedule soon.

So today, as the title might suggest, i’m doing the Blogger Recognition Award! Yay!!!

So i got tagged quite a lot to do this one, and i feel so gushy that i did!

Many thanks to the wonderful Lucia @ Reading With Lucia, Emily @ The Little Book Affair, Sanchita @ Abookesia, and Jackie @ Fallin in love with the sounds of words for nominating me! You girls rock!

The Rules:

  1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
  2. Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
  3. Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
  4. Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  5. Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

The Story:

I’ve loved reading for as long as i remember, but in elementary school, it was considered uncool, so i kept it kind of on the down low that i loved to read. By 5th grade i’d read all the Harry Potter books and the Twilight books, (which i was a little young for, but oh well).

In middle school, i really started embracing my bookish side and i feel in love with Booktube! Some of my first booktubers that i watched were Polandbananasbooks and Katytastic.

I decided that i wanted to start a booktube channel myself in my freshman year of high school, but i was waaaaay too scared of getting judged cause i’m extremely insecure.

Then i realized, wait! Blogging!!!

So this blog was then started in February of this year, and i wrote about 4 posts a month and they were really just summaries of my month of reading and other bits and pieces.

It went on like this for 4 months about, and i wasn’t really getting anywhere, and not paying much attention to this blog. Then i got nominated for the Liebster Award and that was a reality check because when i got to the nominating part i realized that i had no one to nominate.

From there i started following other blogs, and really getting into the community, and by the end of July i had some actual book reviews up! August was even better, and i got nominated for so many awards and tags for which i was so grateful.

September got even more views, and now i’m hoping that October will surpass September 😉

And that’s it…i think.

My Advice:

I know that everyone says not to worry about follower count, but it is true; it also makes it much more exciting when one day you realize that you reached 100!

It’s also important to have a unique style. If you’re not a GIF person, that’s fine, there are definitely other ways to stand out: ie: cool graphics, bright colors…but at the end of the day, it’s a blog, make it fun and entertaining, get people involved in the discussion.

That leads me to my next point! Get involved! Don’t do what i did and wait 4 months until getting involved. Follow other people, make some comments, get yourself known! But do NOT, and i repeat, DO NOT ever leave a comment where you say hi, check out my blog, then leave a link, that’s extremely rude.

My Nominations:

Enthralling Dimple

Cup of tea with that book please

Dream by Day

A Reading Writer

The Talking Bookworm

Maryan @ 1 Book Life

Anna @ My Bookish Dream

Kara @ Ink and Paper

Amy @ Book Enthral

Arianna @ The Daydreaming Bookworm

Shivalika @ Whimsy Journals

Brahmori @ The Crazy Perfectionist

Kayla @ The Fiction Fairy

Trisha Ann @ The Bookgasm

Aetheristrux @ The Amazing Life of a Bookworm

Phew, now that’s over!

The longest/hardest part was finding 15 bloggers to nominate! Normally, that would be easy, but my rules for tags/awards is to never nominate or tag anyone that the person who tagged me already did, so that’s a lot of people out already since i got nominated 4 times!

And then i don’t let myself tag the people i’ve tagged in the last two awards/tags that i’ve done.

But i’ve managed to do some digging into the blogs that i follow to create this lovely list!

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful night!

P.S. I really should be doing my homework right now…oops…

September 2015 Wrap- Up

Hi there! I meant to post a Top Ten Tuesday yesterday but i had waaay too much homework and studying to do.

I also have a lot today, but i really wanted to post my September Wrap Up on the last day of September.

So, here we go! My month of reading:

I actually read a little more than i thought i would. I was in a reading slump this month, and in the last few days i managed to come out of it with the books:

The Fill in Boyfriend by Kasie West and The Cage by Megan Shephard. (And yay, they were on my Top Ten Fall TBR list, so 2 down, 8 to go)

There will be a review for both of these next month, The Fill in Boyfriend on Friday, and then The Cage sometime next week.

I also finally read Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Book review here

I read Wither and Ship Breaker from my school library, Wither was great, i’m pretty sure it’s a series of some sort, and Ship Breaker was ok. Very different from what i usually read, but the school librarian recommended it.

My guilty pleasure romance novel this month was Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. This book was hilarious! Loved it!

Of course, i read Queen of Shadows as well. Book review here

And finally, i read Poison Study! I don’t think i’m going to be finishing the series though. 😦 It just didn’t grip me like i though it would. Ok, and i just couldn’t with the name of the main character, because it’s my mom’s name, so every time they said it, it freaked me out. 🙂

And yes, that is it for my month in reading. Did we read any of the same books? Do you have any recommendations? Leave a comment!

Thanks for reading!

August 2015 Wrap-Up

August Wrap Up

I read soooo many books this month! And most of them were online, on overdrive. I think i was trying to make up for the fact that i won’t be reading as much when school starts. 😉

So first up, i read Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. It has been sitting on my shelf for a while. (I got it from a library book sale) And so when i was bored one day i finally gave it a read. I thought it was ok, nothing too special, and pretty much predictable. 3.5 stars.

I also read a few books for school: Chasing Lincolns’s Killer be James Swanson, Night by Elie Wiesel, and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.

Then of course, i read my Sophie Kinsella books. Remember Me, which i have a review of here. And then Wedding Night, I’ve Got Your Number, and Can You Keep a Secret, all for which i have a review here.

Then of course, i read Unbroken, review to come, and then White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout, book review here, and then its sequel, Stone Cold Touch, book review here.

Then i finally read some David Levithan this past week! I read Boy Meets Boy and Every Day.

And lastly, i read two Adult Romance novels by Emma Chase: Tangled, and Overruled.

So, that’s it! What books did you read in August? Do we have any in common? Suggestions for what to read next? Leave a comment below! 🙂

Thanks for reading!
