  • Tag the creator Kate @ Melting Pots and Other Calamities
  • Please answer the questions. What’s the point of the tags if you don’t answer the questions?
  • You can tag as many people as you like!
  • Oh, and to clarify: the show or book or whatever do not need to have been created IN 2016, like, you can say your favorite book is The Green Mile, which is okay for this list if you read it for the first time in 2016.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE BOOK AND MOVIE FROM 2016? TV SHOWS OR WEBTOONS/ COMICS ARE ALSO ALLOWED, BUT AREN’T NEEDED.

My favorite book of 2016 was probably A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas  and my favorite movie from 2016 was Mockingjay Part 2.

I’m watching the Outlander Season 2 Dvd right now, I have 3 episodes left and that has definitely been my favorite tv show along with Gilmore Girls which I’ve recently binged on these past few months.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE AUTHOR OF 2016? SCREEN WRITERS ARE ALLOWED.

Elise Kova is a new author I’ve discovered this year and her Air Awakens series was great! I also loved Elle Kennedy for NA books along with Alice Clayton.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE ACTOR AND ACTRESS OF 2016?

My favorite actress is Catriona Balfe and my favorite actor is the guy who plays Michel in Gilmore Girls because he’s just hilarious.

WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTERS OF 2016? LIMITED TO TEN CHARACTERS.

Oooh okay Vhalla Yarl and Aldrik definitely and also Kestrel from the Winner’s trilogy

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE FICTIONAL COUPLE AND BROTP?

Claire and Jamie Fraser for fictional couple and the Brotp’s between the male characters of the Off Campus by Elle Kennedy series.

The Darkling is definitely an interesting one.

The Goodreads Book Tag

Reading challenge banner

I was tagged by Sam @ River Moose Reads to do the Goodreads Book Tag! I finished my reading challenge of 100 books last month actually and am quite happy with that.

What was the last book you marked as ‘read’?

Carry On 26252859

Carry on by Rainbow Rowell! And then I finished the Hidden Oracle today. I think I gave Carry On 3 stars and Trials of Apollo 3. I liked the Hidden Oracle, but it’s so similar to everything else Rick writes. I feel like he just has  formula for his books that he uses in every one and readers dig it for some reason, reading the same thing with different character names basically.

What are you currently reading?

29966062

Crystal Crowned by Elise Kova! I love this series so much. I also am going to start reading the Great Gatsby for school soon.

What was the last book you marked as TBR?

15726915

Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens. I don’t know if I’ll ever actually read this one, but it’s the last book I marked on goodreads as to-read.

What book do you plan to read next?

18584855

Heartless by Marissa Meyer! And then obviously also the Great Gatsby

Are you doing a 2016 Reading Challenge?

Yes! 112 out of 100 books currently!

Do you have a wishlist?

Not really, on Overdrive I do but there’s only a few books on there.

What book do you plan to buy next?

The third book in the Red Queen Trilogy in February

Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few.

My favorites are mostly from Harry Potter and the Mortal Instruments, you can check out my 3 days 3 quotes challenges to see some of my favorite quotes.

Who are your favorite authors?

J.K. Rowling, Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan, Sarah J. Maas, Colleen Hoover, Morgan Matson etc.

Have you joined any groups?

I believe I have though I don’t really interact much in them.

Thanks for reading! I tag anyone who wants to do this tag!

P.s. Surprise, I’m alive! I haven’t posted much these past few months, school has kept me really busy, so far I’ve had 4 IB mental breakdowns, really not healthy I tell ya. So sorry for my absence, but it’s not going to get better because midterms are coming up :/

New York Times by the Book Tag

New York Times by the Book Tag.png

I was tagged to do the New York Times by the Book Tag by Deanna @ A Novel Gimpse

Thanks so much for that tag! I feel like I haven’t done one in ages because I’ve been so busy since school started. It’s crazy how the 1st quarter is already over and there’s only three more to go for the year.

Anyhoo, let’s get started!

What book is on your nightstand right now?

I currently have 14 books on a shelf behind my bed. It’s my current tbr from my birthday that I’ll hopefully finish soon.

What was the last truly great book you read?

I had the greatest opportunity to read two amazing ebooks last week, Bright Side by Kim Holden and It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover.

If you could meet one author (living or dead), who would it be? What would you ask?

I would love to meet Stephanie Meyer, she seems like a cool person.

What books might we be surprised to find on your shelf?

Little Women. It’s the only classic on my main shelf.

How do you organize your personal library?

You’ll probably cringe at this but okay, I have my main shelf which I got when Borders was closing a few years ago. This shelf has all of my YA books organized by height and series. Then I have the shelf behind my bed with my tbr, then I have 2 cube shelves with all of the middle grade books I no longer read, along with the Adult books that I’m saving for when I’m older. And lastly I have a few books on a shelf that’s attatched to a lamp that are also adult books for the future.

What book have you always meant to read but haven’t gotten to yet?

The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead, it’s on my tbr shelf so hopefully I’ll get to it soon!

Disappointing, overrated, just not good: what book did you feel you are supposed to like but didn’t?

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for sure, I just didn’t like it.

What kind of stories are you drawn to?

Emotional NA novels, sexy YA fantasies. Books that hit me in the feels basically!

If you could require the president to read one book, what would it be?

Well, we’re going to get a new President based on the election tomorrow, but if we’re talking Obama, he should read Unbroken because that book was so inspiring.

What do you plan to read next?

I’m currently reading Love and Gelato, but I plan to read Wolf by Wolf next and the Crown’s Game. Also if After You ever comes off hold at the library, that one too.

I tag anyone who wants to do this because I’m a tired and struggling IB diploma candidate student 🙂

The “I Messed Up” Book Tag

Thanks to much to Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse for tagging me do this tag!

A Character’s Appearance You Misread or Imagined Differently

I don’t think I realized that Maia from the Mortal Instruments was black until City of Heavenly Fire. I know that’s really bad and I know it obviously doesn’t make a difference but I honestly don’t remember Cassie Clare providing that specific a description for her.

A Character Name You’ve Been Pronouncing Incorrectly

Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! I still pronounce it wrong I think but I don’t even care.

An Overused Trope That Is Your Guilty Pleasure

Oh enemies to lovers cause that sexual tension is always great to read 😉

A Cliched Character Type You Enjoy More Viewing On Screen Than Reading About

Hmm I think I enjoy watching the whole bad boy cliche, though I like reading it too I suppose.

A Word/Phrase You Learned Because of Its Use In A Book

I feel like I have to go with “Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ” from Outlander though I don’t use it THAT often because it’s kind of long.

Have You Ever Not Read or Completed a Required Reading Book For School

Yeah I think I skimmed Fahrenheit 451, but that’s the only book for school I haven’t fully read I swear!

Have You Ever (Or Wanted To) Skipped A Chapter From the POV of a Character You Weren’t Interested In

When I re-read Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas I definitely skipped Manon’s chapters because I loved Rowan and Aelin so much.

Have You Ever Cancelled Social Plans To Read A Book

Hahahaha I feel like I definitely have because I sometimes think about doing that which leads me do believe I probably have done it before. Like sometimes I tell my friends I have a date tonight…with a book…or I say with Rowan Whitethorn, whichever I feel like doing that day.

Thanks for reading! If you want to do this tag, go for it! I’d love to read your answers!
