  4. Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  5. Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

Shivalika’s Questions:

Pick one – Harry Potter or Percy Jackson.

The difficulty of this is real. I think that I’d ship myself more with Percy, but Harry Potter is so cool, but so is Percy. Ack. I can’t decide, really, I can’t, it’s like asking me to pick a favorite child!

Who’s your favourite Lisa Kleypas and Jane Austen hero/ heroine?

I haven’t read any Lisa Kleypas, and I’ve only read 1 and a half Jane Austen books, so I’m going to say Elizabeth Bennett.

Who’s your book soul mate?

Will Herondale

Who’s your latest book crush?

I just finished Lady Midnight, and I’m kind of digging Mark Blackthorn…

Book whose ending you disliked the most.

Everything, Everything

LaLa’s Questions:

Where are you from? Tell me a few interesting facts about your country.

I’m from the U.S., though my parents are from Russia and Ukraine.

What book are you currently reading?

I just finished Lady Midnight and will start Passenger next, as well as the Alchemist for school which is due in less than a month, so I better get on that actually

How many books do you want to read in 2016?

Any plans for New Years Eve?

(Yikes, see, I got tagged a looooong time ago) The answer to this for 2016 though will be the same as last year. No plans. As usual.

What is your favorite drink?

That sparkling cider stuff is yummy, so are Starbucks frapuccinos

I Nominate:

Anna @ My Bookish Dream

Lila @ The Book Keepers Secrets

Ari @ The Daydreaming Bookworm

Analee @ Book Snacks

Jane @ The Greenish Bookshelf

My Questions:

1. What is your favorite color and which book is just that shade?

2. What book character would you want as an older sibling?

3. On average, how many books do you buy a month?

4. Do you keep the dust jacket on hardcover books when you read them?

5. Can you read when it’s loud and noisy around you?

And that is all! Now I just have to finish trig homework, and I can watch the Shadowhunteres finale in an hour, cause we’ve been promised a surprising ending that even fans of the books won’t see coming, and I’m officially scared for humanity.

Thanks for reading everyone,

Stay awesome Sassenachs!-Calliope Fraser

P.S. I’m doing a research paper for English and am stuck between three topics, Helen Keller, the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and Clara Barton- she formed the American Red Cross, help?

Siblinghood of the World Bloggers Award! (3)

Hi! So I’m doing this award for the third time because ya know, I’m popular and I keep being nominated, (which I absolutely love so keep ’em coming!).

This time around I was nominated by Kiwi @ Kiwi Reads, Erin @ Breathing in the Pages and McKenzie @ Bookish Things and Tea!

The Rules:

  1. Thank blogger who nominated you, linking back to their blog
  2. Put the award logo on your blog
  3. Answer the 10 questions sent to you
  4. Make up 10 new questions for your nominees to answer
  5. Nominate 10 blogs

Obviously as I’ve done this twice before I’m going to skip 4 and 5

Kiwi’s Questions:

If you could do or have one thing right now, what would it be?

I would love to have Glass Sword (and Morning Star, and Truthwitch, and Passenger, and Stars Above)

What’s you favorite nail polish color?

What are you majoring in or what would you like to major in?

Either Creative Writing or English, or History, or Publishing/Communications or something to do with Law and Criminal Justice.

What’s you favorite genre of books?

Favorite food?

Favorite music artist?

Currently loving Brendon Urie (Panic! At the Disco)

What is one resolution for 2016 that you think will be hard for you to complete/achieve?

Stop procrastinating

Would you rather lick a toilet or someone’s foot? (I WANT TO SEE THESE ANSWERS)

Is there an author that you’re dying to meet? Who?

Hmm, not particularly but maybe Kiera Cass, she seems pretty cool

How do you organize your bookshelf? By color, title, or genre?

By paperback/hardcover, (size) and I always group series together

Erin’s Questions:

What is your favorite genre of music/books?

I like pop punk/rock and fantasy

Do you have an outrageous dream you want to accomplish? What is it?

Outrageous? Hmm, maybe a published author.

What’s your favorite movie and why?

Oh I don’t know. The Book Thief was amazing, and so was Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?

A million dollar amazon gift card so I could buy books whenever I wanted to

What do you look for in a blog?

The first thing is that I make sure we read the same books, and then sometimes personality if we don’t read the same books

What is your favorite book to screen adaption?

Oh duh, the Book Thief

Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it?

No. There are like a million bajillion quotes out there. Ok fine Claire Fraser: “Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ.” No but seriously, even my 6 year old brother knows who Jamie Fraser is, the obsession is real.

What are some of your hobbies?

I don’t know about you, but I like to read and blog. Also watch YouTube and BookTube.

Would you like to be a mermaid?

Heck yeah!

What are your thoughts on Christmas?

My mother is annoying say that we don’t celebrate just so she doesn’t have to buy me books.

McKenzie’s Questions:

What are you looking forwards to in 2016?

Turning 16. Not really though. I used to think 16 was old and now I still think it’s old and can’t believe that I’m turning old. What is this? I don’t feel all mature and stuff…

Favorite book of the year (so far)?

Hmm. I haven’t read many good ones yet. Air Awakens by Elise Kova for now.

If you could spend the day in Disneyland with one fictional character, who would it be?

Captain Thorne.

Which (different) character would you have an all day Disney movie marathon with?

Rowan Whitethorn. He would hate it. 🙂

Go to movie snack?

Chocolate. Duh.

What’s your favorite movie genre and favorite movie from that genre?

I like rom coms. The Duff was pretty cool.

Do you have an organization method for your books?

Size and series.

If you could meet and befriend one of the golden trio (Harry, Ron, and Hermione), who would it be and why?

Hermione. She’s my secret sister. We’re so similar and I love her so much.

What’s the strangest bookish habit you have?

It’s still strange. Sometimes when a book is really good and I NEED to keep reading I skim over the description paragraphs and read the dialogue only.

How do you feel about the Shadowhunters TV show?

HA! HOW DO I FEEL? They’re butchering one of my favorite series ever. CW should have picked it up, not Freeform! It’s sooooo bad. I can’t handle Clary and Jace. I ship Magnus and Alec with Clary more than I ship Clary and Jace! What is this!? And yet I continue to watch it with a prayer that it somehow magically gets better. Even Magnus! I thought he was casted great and then I saw him actually and was like no. So far, Alec and Simon are my favs, but they could be even better if they had actual well written dialogue! End rant.

Edit: Actually, the last episode wasn’t awful…

Phew. Thanks for sticking around if you’ve made it all the way down here!

Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you in the next one!

Real Neat Blog Award

Hi! So McKenzie @ Bookish things and tea has nominated me for the Real Neat Blog Award!

The Rules:

  • Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.
  •  Answer the seven questions the nomination has provided.
  •  Nominate 7 other bloggers.
  •  Create seven questions for your nominees

McKenzie’s Questions:

1. What’s your go to happy book?

I used to love re-reading Anna and the French Kiss whenever I needed a cheer me up. The the other two books Lola and the boy next door and Isla and the happily ever are awesome as well, but Anna remains my favorite out of the three.

2. What would be your ultimate Christmas gift this year?

This wouldn’t be too much to ask for right? No but really, this question shows how long ago I got tagged…November. So the Outlander books are the present I wish I had gotten, and still hope to get myself this year when I finally get a job this summer doing something. But that’s a lot of money still…

3. Favorite candle scent?

This is the only scented candle I currently have. It smells so good and Christmas-y and even now that Christmas is over, I still burn it to remind me of Christmas and mistletoe. I think I got it at Kohl’s while Christmas shopping for my best friends.

4. Do you prefer paperbacks or hard covers? Why?

I feel like they both have their own special qualities. Hardcovers are nice because the covers don’t flip up like paperbacks do when you read the book for a while. But whenever I read a hardcover in school, I take off the dust jacket because it would probably rip in my backpack or something. But I do hate how the corners of paperbacks always curl up over time if in your backpack.

So…after much deliberation…hard covers it is.

5. If you could take a year off from everything without any repercussions, what would you do during that year?

Oh man, that sounds amazing! I would read and blog and do whatever I want. I’d take a vacation with my best friends and we’d take a much needed break from school. I’d be really lazy basically and enjoy myself because school takes the life out of you really.

6. Best book-to-movie adaptation you saw in 2015?

Ooh, definitely Mockingjay part 2.

I really enjoyed it, and I think it was really one of  the only book to movies I watched besides The Silver Linings Play Book…but I could be wrong considering it’s now 2016 and I’ve forgotten everything 2015.

7. What about your favorite book of 2015 so far?

Well now, I would kindly direct you to my Favorite Books of 2015 post, which you can click here to see, I discuss my most favorite books of the year in that post.

Now for my questions!

1. What was the first book you read in 2016?

2. What is the prettiest book that you own?

3. What’s a book that you’ve been meaning to read for a while now but just never seem to get to?

4. What’s your current favorite TV show?

5. What’s your most anticipated February release?

6. What is the last book you reviewed?

7. What is the last book that you bought?

I Tag:

Analee @ Book Snacks

Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks

Ali @ Arctic Books

Lish @ Print Quest

Stefanie @ Yourdaughtersbookshelf

Alicia @ Cyborg Knights

Emily @ Emily Talks About Books

And that is all!

P.S. I’m very curious, I was going to post this this as one of my 7 questions but then I realized that not everyone has read the Mortal Instruments and Harry Potter: Who would win in a duel, Dumbledore or Magnus Bane?
