Hey! I’m back from my Journalism boot camp and I can honestly say it’s been my best week all summer. I made so many new friends and lasting memories that I will hopefully never forget. And literally as I’m typing this, I’m texting the group chat that we made, and we’re all texting how it was weird waking up and not seeing each other first thing.
So anyway, I didn’t really read much this week because of that, and I read a total of 8 books this month bringing my goodreads total to 63 and 63% done.
So first up this month I read this review copy, No More Heroes
I thought this book was okay, and I gave it 3.5 stars. My full review can be found here
I also read Finding Audrey finally and Salt to the Sea
I enjoyed Finding Audrey and gave it 4 stars, my review here.
Salt to the Sea was great, and I gave it 4.5 stars, review here
I read the first two books in the Dorothy Must Die Trilogy
I will probably have a trilogy review up for when I finish Yellow Brick War. These covers and plot lines are absolutely beautiful, but at times I was a little bored. I think Dorothy Must Die is getting 4 stars, and then the Wicked Will Rise is getting 3.5.
I re-read Red Queen and then followed it up with the sequel, Glass Sword
Once again, I’m still confused why people hate on this series so much. For me, Red Queen was a 4.5 star read, and Glass Sword was a 4 star read. I’m excited to see what the next by, King’s Rising I think, brings.
And last but not least, I finally read The Crown by Kiera Cass
The colors on the cover and naked book are so gorgeous, though Eadlyn’s head looks weird on her shoulders, the color of this cover is definitely my favorite.
I probably will have a review for this book up soon, but I’m giving it 3.5 or 3 stars, I haven’t decided yet.
Overall, I’m not reading much less, or any more than I read during the school year, mainly because my summer is practically just as busy. I am glad that I lowered my goodreads challenge by 35 books because there was just no way.
How has your July been? What have you read? And also how is your summer going?
Link me up with your July Wrap Ups and I’ll check them out!
P.s. It’s Harry Potter’s birthday today!!
Journalism boot camp sounds super cool! I have Finding Audrey and Salt to the Sea on my TBR. I loved Red Queen and didn’t like Glass Sword as much. It kind of let me down, but I agree. I don’t understand the hate. It wasn’t bad. Same with the hate for The Selection series. The Heir was terrible but I quite enjoyed The Crown. Good luck next month!

It was super intense, but very fun too.
I think red queen and glass sword have a lot of elements taken from other books and movies and so that may be where the hate comes from. For me, the crown was a bit unbelievable, political and monarchy wise, but it was still pretty good. Thanks, and you too! 🙂
