May started off really bad in terms of reading because of AP testing but it quickly picked up and I was able to read 9 books!
First up this month I read the Distance Between Us
This is by far my favorite Kasie West book! I really enjoyed myself reading this and related to the main character a lot. I have a review up that you can click here to see.
My best friend recommended that I read the False Prince and so I did. I liked it! And I gave it a 4 out of 5 star rating on goodreads.
I re read Red Rising and Golden Son in anticipation for Morning Star and I absolutely LOVE this trilogy! 5 star rating for all of them and I have review up for all of them too.
I also read the Unexpected Everything and Read Player One, which has been on my TBR for nearly a year now. Reviews will be going up for both of these in the next week or so, but I highly enjoyed them both and I think will be giving them in the 4 or 4.5 star range rating.
For school this month I had to read the Kite Runner and The Alchemist. I absolutely loved the Kite Runner, 5 star rating for sure, but I downright hated the Alchemist and would probably give it like a 1.5 star rating. My teacher told me that I would love the Alchemist but for me it felt like a novel that preached religion and destiny and I just disliked it. It’s not even that I dislike books about religion necessarily because I’ve loved other books like this. I don’t even know why I hated this one so much 😦
And now I have a test on it next week and since I loathed the book this test is going to be hard for me, on top of the fact that it’s supposed to be one of the hardest tests we take on a book.
So that’s it! What books have you read this month?? How far behind or ahead are you of your Goodreads challenge? I’m 9 books behind so far, but hopefully I’ll be able to catch up in the summer months of July and August.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who hated the Alchemist. I thought it was so stupid. Glad you got some good reads in this month!

Nice post!💙I can’t wait to read The Unexpected Everything, how was it?

It was slightly predictable, but nevertheless highly enjoyable and the typical cuteness that I expected from a Morgan Matson book 😉

Hope your AP tests went well! (I hated those when I had to do them). Looking forward to your review of Unexpected Everything. I’ve read two Morgan Matson books so far so I’m interested to see what you thought!

Yep I hope so too! I’ve read all of her books so far and she’s pretty good at writing contemporary. This one was a little predictable but I still really liked it. My favorite has to be amy and Rogers epic detour though

Even though you are 9 books behind you still read lots this month! I read 8 books this month and really liked or loved them all!

Yeah somehow I’m always behind no matter what, probably because I’ve set such a high number of books to read this year. Oh that’s good then! I always like when I’ve had a pretty good month of reading and have enjoyed the books for the most part ;P

Yeah and it’s the most books I’ve read in a month so far this year and it’s caught me up to my goodreads goal which I was previously behind on so I’m super happy.

Oh yay, that’s always good news! I really dislike seeing that I’m behind haha, it just irks me knowing it, but I’ll catch up soon I’m sure 😉

Me too I was nervous about my goal too because it is higher than my goal was last year (and I didn’t complete last years which was 50 yikes) but this year I did 60. Hopefully you catch up in June!!

I made mine like 4 books higher this year (seeing as I read 131 I think last year I decided to go up by the nearest 5 haha) yeah, I always do manage to read the bulk of my years reading challenge in the summer so hopefully!

Ah, I also wasn’t the biggest fan of The Alchemist – I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed most of your reads, though. Oh God, AP testing is always the worst – it definitely set me back a bit too, hahaha!
