Blogger Recognition Award

I am sooo sorry for my absence this week! Just as i say i post regularly on Sunday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s, i’m unable to, look at that.

So i guess i’m back to irregular scheduling this week, but hopefully i can get back on my regular schedule soon.

So today, as the title might suggest, i’m doing the Blogger Recognition Award! Yay!!!

So i got tagged quite a lot to do this one, and i feel so gushy that i did!

Many thanks to the wonderful Lucia @ Reading With Lucia, Emily @ The Little Book Affair, Sanchita @ Abookesia, and Jackie @ Fallin in love with the sounds of words for nominating me! You girls rock!

The Rules:

  1. Select 15 other blogs you want to give the award to. Do some digging if you must! Find those blogs. You cannot nominate yourself or the person who has nominated you.
  2. Write a post to show off your award! Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog. List who you’ve nominated in the post.
  3. Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right-clicking, saving, and uploading the image above).
  4. Comment on each blog and let them know you’ve nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
  5. Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing!

The Story:

I’ve loved reading for as long as i remember, but in elementary school, it was considered uncool, so i kept it kind of on the down low that i loved to read. By 5th grade i’d read all the Harry Potter books and the Twilight books, (which i was a little young for, but oh well).

In middle school, i really started embracing my bookish side and i feel in love with Booktube! Some of my first booktubers that i watched were Polandbananasbooks and Katytastic.

I decided that i wanted to start a booktube channel myself in my freshman year of high school, but i was waaaaay too scared of getting judged cause i’m extremely insecure.

Then i realized, wait! Blogging!!!

So this blog was then started in February of this year, and i wrote about 4 posts a month and they were really just summaries of my month of reading and other bits and pieces.

It went on like this for 4 months about, and i wasn’t really getting anywhere, and not paying much attention to this blog. Then i got nominated for the Liebster Award and that was a reality check because when i got to the nominating part i realized that i had no one to nominate.

From there i started following other blogs, and really getting into the community, and by the end of July i had some actual book reviews up! August was even better, and i got nominated for so many awards and tags for which i was so grateful.

September got even more views, and now i’m hoping that October will surpass September 😉

And that’s it…i think.

My Advice:

I know that everyone says not to worry about follower count, but it is true; it also makes it much more exciting when one day you realize that you reached 100!

It’s also important to have a unique style. If you’re not a GIF person, that’s fine, there are definitely other ways to stand out: ie: cool graphics, bright colors…but at the end of the day, it’s a blog, make it fun and entertaining, get people involved in the discussion.

That leads me to my next point! Get involved! Don’t do what i did and wait 4 months until getting involved. Follow other people, make some comments, get yourself known! But do NOT, and i repeat, DO NOT ever leave a comment where you say hi, check out my blog, then leave a link, that’s extremely rude.

My Nominations:

Enthralling Dimple

Cup of tea with that book please

Dream by Day

A Reading Writer

The Talking Bookworm

Maryan @ 1 Book Life

Anna @ My Bookish Dream

Kara @ Ink and Paper

Amy @ Book Enthral

Arianna @ The Daydreaming Bookworm

Shivalika @ Whimsy Journals

Brahmori @ The Crazy Perfectionist

Kayla @ The Fiction Fairy

Trisha Ann @ The Bookgasm

Aetheristrux @ The Amazing Life of a Bookworm

Phew, now that’s over!

The longest/hardest part was finding 15 bloggers to nominate! Normally, that would be easy, but my rules for tags/awards is to never nominate or tag anyone that the person who tagged me already did, so that’s a lot of people out already since i got nominated 4 times!

And then i don’t let myself tag the people i’ve tagged in the last two awards/tags that i’ve done.

But i’ve managed to do some digging into the blogs that i follow to create this lovely list!

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful night!

P.S. I really should be doing my homework right now…oops…

  1. Your starting out story is the same as mine! I also loved Booktubers like polandbananasBOOKS, Katytastic, JessetheReader, PeruseProject and padfootandprongs07! I also wanted a booktube challenge but was unsure of it and then started my blog! I am so glad I found someone who has the same story as me. 😀 And loved your post BTW! 🙂

  2. Thank you for the nomination! 😀 I should really get on the bandwagon of tags and awards. I’ve got them piling up and soon I will be lost in them. :p Maybe that’s an exaggeration… maybe not. :p

I think exams are driving me crazy. :p Anyways nice post and i must say that you follow your own advice of using bright colours to make your blog look good and you’re succeeding. 😀 ❤

  3. Thank you for nominating me, Calliope! OMG we have the same blog birthday! Like you, I only post once a week and didn’t pay too much attention to it. Such a nice progress you made in this blog. Congratulations! 😀

  4. Thank you for nominating me! ❤ 😀
Booktube is one of the reasons I started my blog as well. I'm just way to uncomfortable to film myself, so a blog is the perfect alternative.
