Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Yay, a tag! I know that it’s not the middle of the year anymore, but whatever, it doesn’t really matter.

Thank you so much Erika for tagging me! (You know, Erika, from Erika in Bookventureland. She’s pretty awesome, go check her blog out cause she redesigned it and now it looks super fancy and cool ) 😉

Best book you’ve read so far in 2015

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas. I originally had A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas, but then i read Queen of Shadows a week ago, and so yeah, i changed it.

Best Sequel You’ve Read in 2015

StoneColdTouch_FC1

I haven’t really read many sequels this year, but I did love Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which is the sequel to White Hot Kiss.

New release that you haven’t read yet but want to

The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead. I’m waiting until it comes out in Paperback to buy it, so it matches my other books. Vanity over here. I know.

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

Winter by Marissa Meyer! Ahhhhhh, i’m so pumped for this book!

Runner ups: The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan, November 9 by Colleen Hoover, and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Biggest Disappointment

15806868

Towering by Alex Flinn. I love Alex Flinn’s fairy tale retellings, but this one just didn’t click with me.

Biggest Surprise

Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. I had to read this book for school, and i really was dreading having to read it. The first page was soooo boring. Eventually, i had to force myself to read it, and i was surprised at how good it was.

Favorite New Author

Sophie Kinsella and Colleen Hoover! Christine from PolandbananasBOOKS on YouTube was just getting into these two authors, so i decided to give them a read and both of these authors are my contemporary queens! (Along with Morgan Matson of course.)

New Fictional Crush

whitehotkiss

Well, i don’t really have any from this year, unless you count Rowan from Queen of Shadows…but he was my crush last year in Heir of Fire. I’m just going to go with Roth from White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I wouldn’t say i have a crush on him, but wowzers, he’s hot.

Newest Favorite Character

All of Sophie Kinsella’s Hysterical Female Protagonists, especially Emma from Can You Keep A Secret though.

Book That Made You Cry

51bBbJPlfNL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_

All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. I usually go with the Fault in Our Stars, but i tried to keep this tag based on the books i’ve read this year only.

Book That Made You Happy

My True Love Gave To Me by Stephanie Perkins and Co. This was the best holiday book ever. There are 12 holiday stories from 12 different authors, and i just loved this one so much.

Favorite Book to Film Adaptation You Saw This Year

I’ve only seen two, Unbroken and Silver Linings Playbook, Unbroken Movie wasn’t that good, so i guess Silver Linings Playbook, though it wasn’t the best either.

Favorite Book Review You’ve Written

I kind of liked my July Wrap Up and my Queen of Shadows reviews, (I finally discovered how to use bold and colors)

Queen of Shadows: Click Here

Most Beautiful Book You’ve Bought This Year (Or Received)

A Court of Thorns and Roses

Well, i would say Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas, but i already used that one, so let’s go with A Court of Thorns and Roses. Same author so…

What Books You Need to Read by the End of the Year

Ugh, too many, but i’m in a reading slump so these might take a while

-The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead

-Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

-Winter by Marissa Meyer

-Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

-Hopeless by Colleen Hoover (And Losing Hope afterwards)

-Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

I tag:

  1. I’m definitely looking forward to reading Six of Crows as well! I need to pre-order ASAP. HAHA

And I agree with Emma from Can You Keep A Secret. She is such a hilarious heroine.

    Thanks for participating! 🙂

  2. Thanks for tagging us, Calliope! Shanti or I will hopefully get around to this sometime. I am SO excited for Winter, omg, I just want it. I share your opinion on All The Bright Places- It was sad but sooooo good, and I loved My True Love Gave to Me (I read it last year though. And I’m already so excited for Christmas, I don’t know why. But yes, I liked it. 😀

      • I read most of my books on overdrive too! It’s so easy, but yeah sometimes it expires and you don’t realize it. It actually harms my netgalley ratio because I keep clicking the request buttons and the borrow buttons. 😉
