Time to discuss Hollow City! The second book in the Miss. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children Trilogy, the third book, called Library of Souls, comes out in September!
Here are some of my favorite lines/scenes from the book, either i found them funny or written well:
When Addison the talking dog asks Emma to light his Pipe with her finger, i just found that funny.
“Do you ever find yourself climbing into an open grave during a bombing raid,” I [Jacob] said, “and just wish you’d stayed in bed?”
And then Emma proceeds to kick his shoe and told him to quit stalling. 😀
I really enjoyed this book, and i liked the pictures in the beginning of all of the ‘Peculiar Personae’. I realized that there were significantly less pictures in this book, but that was fine with me.
I’m still amazed how Ransom Riggs managed to find all of these pictures!
I think i liked the first book better, but Hollow City was still great!
That Plot Twist: (spoiler) Ok, i really thought that the peregrine was Miss. Peregrine. The fact that it was HER BROTHER though! I honestly didn’t see that coming, and i felt so bad for Althea, and then when she died, and all of the ice started to melt.
Oh, omg! Jacob can tame Hollows now!? That’s crazy awesome. Also though, the fact that the wights are taking out the Peculiar’s second souls, that’s crazy horrible. I wonder what’s going to happen to the captured Peculiars and Miss. Wren.
Oh, and since Miss. Peregrine has been held captive the whole time, i wonder how she and the other ymbrynes are holding up. Are the wights like torturing them or something?
Ok, i think that’s really it, i didn’t have a lot of thoughts on this except: ‘I CAN’T WAIT FOR LIBRARY OF SOULS’. Ransom Riggs has a lot of buildup from the first two books, and i wonder if his ending will be satisfactory for us readers, because there’s a lot of action and scenes needed in one book.
I’m confident that us readers will be satisfied. And would an epilogue be too much to ask for as well?
Anyway, thanks for reading, and i’ll see you in the next one!
