Colleen Hoover Book Reviews

I just finished reading Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, as well as Maybe Someday, i’m going to read Hopeless, Losing Hope, and Finding Cinderella next.

I also read Red Queen, but that will be in a different post.

Colleen Hoover is an amazing writer, let’s talk about her books shall we? Spoilery of course, so read at your own risk.

Her first book that i read was Slammed.

I fell in love with Layken and Will’s romance instantly. I loved how Kel and Caulder were such good friends, and i absolutely loved Julia, Lake’s mom. My relationship with my mother is kind of in that teenage stage where we don’t get along very well, but Julia was the best mom ever, and i cried so hard at the end of the book.

Point of Retreat (Book two in the trilogy)

Slightly less better than Slammed, but still as epic. That car accident man, that was tough. I thought Layken was being really unfair about the whole thing Vaugn thing, but since we were in Will’s head we couldn’t hear her side.

This Girl (Book Three)

I didn’t like this one as much, just because the first few chapters were interesting, seeing Slammed from Will’s view, but then i got bored.

Maybe Someday

I didn’t like it as much as Slammed, but i liked this one better than Point of Retreat and This Girl. Ridge was an interesting character, and i loved the relationship between Maggie and himself. My favorite scene was the drunk scene where Maggie is like, go show Ridge your bra! Also, when Bridgette think that Sydney is deaf, also when Sydney at the end of the book signs ‘when’, also…ok you get the picture. 🙂

Ugly Love

On par with Slammed. After reading so many Colleen Hoover books, i realized that there was going to be something sad or a tragic event. When we meet Rachel, i thought that she would die, when she gets pregnant, i thought she and the baby would die, and when the accident happens, i knew that Miles would end up not being able to save the baby. I loved how at the end of the book, Miles confronts his past, and realizes that Rachel has moved on, and so should he, and i loved how it’s Ian who gave that push. Tate and her brother had a great relationship, and i loved the character Cal. I thought it was so funny how Lisa and Miles’s father got married while their children got pregnant.

My rankings so far:

1) Slammed, Ugly Love (tied for first, i couldn’t choose)

2)Maybe Someday

3)Point of Retreat

4)This Girl
